We left Heathrow in lovely sunshine, although it was chilly!
Start as you mean to go on!

The architecture is wonderful and there are many beautiful buildings.

The first three are outside the New York Café, more of that later.

A craft fair at the castle

The views are amazing.

The last one is the British Embassy in Budapest.

Inside the New York Café is even more fabulous than the outside!

We went for an evening cruise on the river Danube as the sun set. It was as beautiful as you imagine it ought to be.

Today we met my friend Zita who took us for sail up the Danube to visit the beautiful artists' town of Szentendre. On the boat trip we sailed past Queen Margaret Island. We had a wonderful lunch listening to a visiting band in the town square. When we returned to Budapest we visited some of the most outstanding buildings and spent a very happy few hours at a Wine Festival :)
It was fabulous from beginning to end.

The buildings were stunning with beautiful ceramics on the roof.

Zita told us that it was considered lucky to stroke the horse's testicles! WE didn't, but it looks like everyone else did! Look - shiny!

Those are not nose bags - they are for carrying your wine glass!

Hugh took some photos of London on the way home on Sunday. Look out for The Gherkin, my office, Tower Bridge, The Tower of London, The Shard, the flats in St Katherine's Dock and HMS Belfast to name but a few.
